As part
of our community involvement, we
sponsor two scholarship for seniors at
a local high school entering the field of education. The 2010/2011 winners
were announced Tuesday, May 10th at our Awards Banquet. Winning
the $400 scholarships were Lisa Cromwell and Stephanie Sink:

Left:
Stephanie Sink, daughter of Joel and Cindy Sink. She
is a senior at Arcanum High School. Stephanie will be attending Ball State University. Her
goal is to be a middle or high school teacher in the area of social
studies
Right: Lisa
Cromwell, daughter of Dane and Penny Cromwell. She is a senior at
Versailles HS and will be attending Miami University studying math
education. |

Funding for the scholarship book grant program comes from a variety of sources
including: |

books donated by DCRTA members that are
sold at the meetings. |

|
 |
and scholarship pitchers placed on the
table during the meetings to be filled with donations for the scholarship. |

|
In addition, the chapter held a large
garage sale the summers of 2009 and 2011, which raised a substantial amount of money for the
scholarship fund. |
