Scholarship Program

As part of our community involvement, we sponsor two scholarship for seniors at a local high school entering the field of education. The 2010/2011 winners were announced Tuesday, May 10th at our Awards Banquet.  Winning the $400 scholarships were Lisa Cromwell and Stephanie Sink:

Left:  Stephanie Sink, daughter of Joel and Cindy Sink. She is a senior at Arcanum High School. Stephanie  will be attending Ball State University. Her goal is to be a middle or high school teacher in the area of social studies

Right: Lisa Cromwell, daughter of Dane and Penny Cromwell. She is a senior at Versailles HS and will be attending Miami University studying math education.

Funding for the scholarship book grant program comes from a variety of sources including:

books donated by DCRTA members that are sold at the meetings.

and scholarship pitchers placed on the table during the meetings to be filled with donations for the scholarship.

In addition, the chapter held a large garage sale the  summers  of 2009 and 2011, which raised a substantial amount of money for the scholarship fund.
